Lack of sleep is not the only reason that can make you feel tired. Small things that you do (or don't do) can also sap your energy and make getting through day a chore.
Here are some common bad habits that can make you feel tired during the day including some expert recommended tweaks that can save you from that.
Skipping exercises
We have a natural tendency to skip workouts when we are feeling tired. However, this tendency works against us. Regular exercises boost strength and endurance while making your cardiovascular system run smoothly. Exercises also deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues that helps function body better.

Lack of water
If you are even little dehydrated - as little as 2 percent - energy level of body gets affected. Dehydration causes reduction in blood volume which makes the blood comparatively thicker. As a result, the speed at which heart pumps blood carrying nutrients and oxygen, gets reduced.
Lack of iron
Iron deficiency makes you feel sluggish, irritable, and weak. Iron also reduces the risk of anemia. Lean beef, kidney beans, tofu, eggs, dark green leafy vegetables, nuts and peanut butter are great sources of iron. Experts recommend consuming iron along with vitamin C.
Skipping breakfasts
Foods are like fuel to the body. Skipping one meal is enough to make you feel sluggish. It is better to have a breakfast that includes whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fat.
Say no to junk foods
Food rich in sugar and simple carbs (junk foods) are high in glycemic index - an indicator of how rapidly carbohydrates increase blood sugar. Constant blood spikes followed by sharp drop is another reason of fatigue. According to experts, keeping blood sugar steady by having lean protein along with a whole grain at every meal is one way to overcome this.
