Tips For Preventing Tooth Decay In Toddlers
According to a survey, one in 10 three-year-olds has tooth decay. Here are few things to reduce the risks:

Avoid sugary drinks and snack
Consuming too many sugary foods and drinks too often is the chief reason of tooth decay. Experts advice to keep foods and drinks containing sugar to mealtimes only. Dried fruit is also damaging to teeth so rather try to give it at mealtimes rather than in-between meals.
Give water and milk
According to experts sugary fruit juice drink aimed at very young children are simply not necessary and should be avoided. Water and milk for the under-threes are the best choice.
Move children from bottles of cups from the age of one
Consuming sugary drinks from bottles and sippy-cups further increases the damage caused, particularly to the front teeth. According to experts parents should aim to introduce drinking from a free-flow cup from six months of age and stop feeding from a bottle from 12 months of age.
Brush teeth twice a day
Brushing for two minutes, twice a day, once before bed, could help prevent tooth decay. Experts also suggest to use only a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste for younger children.
