As the change in weather takes place, viral cough and cold become common ailments that kids suffer from. Here are some remedies to treat the ailment and boost kid's immunity:

Steam

If your kid is suffering from cold and has trouble breathing, get him/her to take steam. You can do this by heating water in a wide bowl and make the kid inhale the hot fumes for at least 10 to 15 minutes. You can also add eucalyptus oil, which will also help soothe kid's system.

Honey

Honey is known for its soothing effect. Dip your finger in honey and let your baby lick it two-three times a day. If the kid is older than five years, mix a spoonful with cinnamon powder and ask him/her to have it.

Carmon seeds

Boiling water with carom seeds and tulsi leaves can also help keep the cough in check. The mixture also relieves chest congestion.

Massage

Massages work best for everyone, especially children who are below two years of age. Massage your baby's chest, back and neck area with a mixture of mustard oil and garlic.

Turmeric milk

Turmeric has antiseptic properties. It is also known to treat viral infections such as cough and cold. Add turmeric powder to a glass of warm milk and ask you kid to have it every night. It can provide instant relief for an aching throat and runny rose.
