In British Columbia in Canada, a video of male orca was seen in the waters off Victoria kicking a harbor seal into the air like it was kicking a field goal, reports Yahoo News. This video was captured during the promotional video for Eagle Wing Whale Watching Tours. It is common for the orcas to stun the seals but to punt them is a very rare thing to see.

The man behind the camera, Mike Walker, told the Huffington Post that " "We do a ton of whale watching, but this is fairly rare. Brett Soberg - owner of Eagle Wing - mentioned to us that it's only the fourth time he's seen an orca do that in about 20 years". After the orcas hit the seal, it is rare for them to eat their prey, said researcher Chris Parsons of George Mason University. He said, "they do it to eviscerate them. They hit them so hard that their entrails pop out, which they leave behind after eating the muscle and blubber". The male killer whale is called T69C and in this video, he got hold of a harbor seal and flung him into the air at least 80 feet high.

It is unthinkable for the seal in the video to have survived the torment. Orcas are known to feast on these animals along with others like sea lions, fish, squid, dolphins, porpoises and sometimes even blue whales, reports Discovery News. There are many videos in this genre that are viral on the internet and provides a great incentive for the wildlife enthusiasts to capture such rare events. The crew of Roll Focus Productions said that the video was "filmed from a safe distance under the guidance of Transport Canada and the Department of Fisheries & Oceans."
