Kickstarter funds an album for cats
Soon, not only you will be enjoying listening to music but also your pet feline as well. Musician David Teie has taken on the task on creating music for cats. Music Cats for Kickstarter is funding a 40 minute long album.
"From an age when they were worshiped as gods," said by the narrator of the Music for Cats video, "to a time when they're worshiped online, cats have had to listen to music they often didn't actually like. Until now."
"Unlike humans, felines establish their sense of music outside of the womb, through sounds heard after they're born, like the chirping of birds, the sucking of milk, or the purring of their mother," Teie said. He combines those sounds to create songs that cats will surely love.
Music for Cats was introduced earlier this year when a team of scientists and musicians revealed cat tracks that composed of 47 domestic felines. The cats responded to the tracks by rubbing their heads on the speakers which they do not do when listening to music made for humans.
Music for Cats is endorsed by internet famous felines Nala, Bacon, Cole and Marmalade. Kickstarter fans are pledging money for the project that already resulted to an amount of $105,000. The project only had $20,000 planned budget. Music for Cats project will last for 21 days.
If you want to pledge for the project, the price rangs from $5 for a download of a single song and $15 for the full album. Higher pledges can get you a physical album or signed copies of the music sheet. A $2,000 pledge can get you a song specially made for your cat.
Teie said he wants to bring "the beauty and comfort of music to as many species as possible."
When asked if he wants to create music for dogs? Teie said, "I worry they will want to sing along, though,"
