Why Do Dogs Tilt Their Heads To One Side?
Now whenever you are feeling low or in the dumps, you find the dog pushing its wet nose into your hand, or sitting by you, with its head to one side. Why?
The tilting is all because they care, according to Mental Floss. Dogs are very good at reading body language and picking up hints that show something.
It isn't all that amazing. When you are listening to your friend who is upset about something, don't you tilt your head to one side, in order to express your sympathy and concern? Mental Floss says that dogs who tilt their heads often are more sympathetic than others.
They want to tell you that they care, and that they are feeling sympathetic towards you, according to Metro.
Another reason they tilt their heads is because when they hear a sound, they may not be able to identify where it is from. So they just tilt their heads to adjust their listening, and to "slightly adjust their outer ears, in order to pinpoint the exact location of a sound," said Metro.
