He was a "Star Wars" super fan. But Daniel Fleetwood, afflicted by a rare cancer, has now died at 32 years, according toHNGN.

Recently, he had become popular among Star Wars fans when he started a social media drive called #ForceForDaniel. He had wanted to see an early cut of J.J. Abrams' "The Force Awakens" before he died. He managed to get what he had wished for thanks to the support of fans and "Star Wars" insiders Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Carrie Fisher.

Daniel was afflicted by a rare form of connective tissue cancer, or spindle cell sarcoma. After he was given a couple of months to live in July, he fought for another four months.

Ashley Fleetwood, his wife, posted their last selfie and the announcement of his death on Facebook:

"Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero. Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together."
