The prompt and high-speed perception of time has finally been justified as seems like science has rationalized our queries regarding the speedy nature of time.

The concern is alarming as one day you put your infant to sleep and the next day you are preparing them for college? A bit shocking yet jaw-dropping, as we tend to think that time speeds up beyond our imagination. The statement is merely a hoax as researchers have put entire blame on technology.

Technology, even though making our lives easier and much more practical, the everyday gadgets, smart phones and tablets in which we dwell everyday are actually altering our perceptions regarding time. We think that it is the time that is moving too fast; but in fact, it is the constant use of technology that is making us believe in the rapid flow of time.

The study incorporated those individuals who are tech freaks and compared them with those who are simpler and prefer a tech-free lifestyle. The results showed that those who were glued to their respective gadgets exhibited signs of stress and claimed that time does pass extremely quickly. The latter group displayed no such signs and seemed less stressed than the previous group.

Present at the James Cook University, researcher Dr Aoife McLoughlin claims 'It seems like there's something about technology itself that primes us to increase that pacemaker inside of us that measures the passing of time." Quotes Daily mail.

'While it might help us to work faster, it also makes us feel more pressured by time.'

While the research has paused on the retrospect findings, McLoughlin feels that there is a wider need to analyze the long term effects of the constant technology use.

The research maintains that in some scenarios, technology is considered as the panacea, but further researches have established that it has modified our thinking regarding time.
