Even though the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games are going strong, the next generation consoles have already been planned. Xbox Two and PlayStation 5 are both expected to launch by the end of this decade and the analysts predict that they will arrive sooner that their predecessors. The experts say that the reason why they will be launched sooner is that by 2020 both the technologies will become obsolete. But before that happens, Sony and Microsoft are expected to announce some solid plans for the replacements of existing consoles, reports Value Walk.

There also news that AMD is coaxing Microsoft and Sony with hardware that can boost he performance of the current consoles five times per watt. As of now, both PlayStation and Xbox use the customized AMD technology based on the Jaguar microarchitecture, says Geek.

According to Tech Post, unlike 3 Technology, 4K resolution is a big thing and is already prepping up to be one. Even though the content rollout is relatively slow, the prices of 4K-compatible devices are seen dropping. To explain more simply, the gaming consoles today do not have the horsepower needed to support the 4K gaming. Another reason why it is important to have faster hardware is the enhanced virtual reality.

Most of the people in the gaming community believe that both the consoles will be out without the disc drive and will only depend on the streaming service or games downloadable from the internet. Whether or not virtual reality will align with the company goals is another thing but it is safe to say that both the consoles will have to evolve continually to keep the players interested for more. Some speculate that these consoles will be released in 2018, reports Game N Guide.
