Millions of Spiders Lay Siege in a Tennessee Town
It looked like a scene from a horror movie when a town in an American state, Tennessee, was attacked by spiders leaving the resident s paralyzed with fear. These creatures were spotted in millions in North Memphis that the residents described as nothing short of a horror movie scene. Residents told the local press that they have spotted spiders in hundreds and thousands near their homes and offices in just one day, as reported by Dispatch Tribunal.
In a bid to control the situation, the residents say that they are trying to take the spiders down one at a time but have failed to make any progress so far. "They're in the air, flying everywhere. They are all on the house, on the side of windows". The inhabitants of the area have requested the officials to take quick action and make the area safe and habitable. "It could be juveniles - millions - in a big emergence event, or adults of a tiny species - probably a sheetweb spider - leaving for some reason possibly knowable only to them". The citizens have photographed the incident and are making videos, uploading them to YouTube. They also report seeing a web which is at least a kilometer long and is infested with millions of spiders. Debra Lewis, a resident of the town said, "You can't even sit in her house because they're all on the wall, on the door. We been killing spiders for about an hour now, as reported by Rapid News Network
The editor-in-chief of the Memphis Business Journal took to the Twitter and asked the civic authorities to take a quick action. "The most important story right now is this North Memphis spider infestation," Greg Akers wrote. "Has anyone made an app tracking its movements yet?", said The New Indian Express
