Trump's Brilliant Idea: Ban Internet To Defeat ISIS, Gates Can Help
Donald Trump has another original idea to improve the situation in the U.S. He is calling for a shut down of the Internet completely.
In a speech on Monday in South Carolina, he had asked for a ban on Muslims pouring into the US. And now, pointing out that the Internet is used to "radicalize" people, he said that he wanted to consult Bill Gates to check how he could shut it off, said Independent.
"We're losing a lot of people because of the Internet," he added. "We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some ways."
With the idea of the social media being responsible for the recruitment of Muslims, Trump has hit upon the idea that banning it would help to keep the Muslims out. While the modus operandi that he proposes is not too clear, he is calling upon Gates and "different people", maybe including tech experts that he thinks he could negotiate with in order to execute his plan.
His speech does make one thing clear, though. Trump does not have a proper understanding of the Internet.
Like the call he made on banning Muslims, Trump's statement has again invited a number of criticisms, according to The Guardian.
