Adding to a long list of cruelties meted out in Iraq, Syria and other parts of the world, ISIS is allegedly now targeting children with congenital disabilities including babies with Down syndrome.

According to Fox News, a post by a group known as Mosul Eye claims 38 children have been killed since the top leaders of ISIS issued the dictum to its foot soldiers. The post claims a fatwa issued by Saudi judge of Shar'i board of ISIS issued the religious decree, also called a fatwa. Consequently, infants including newborns, have been killed either by suffocation or lethal injections.

"The information indicates that most of the children born with Down's syndrome are those of foreign fighters who married Iraqi, Syrian and Asian women. We recorded more than 38 confirmed cases of killing babies with congenital deformities and Down's [sic] Syndrome, aged between one week to three months. They were killed by either lethal injection or suffocation. Some of those killings took place in Syria and Mosul," Inquisitr reported while quoting the post.

Inquisitr also reported reactions from the online community which expressed mixed opinions. Some of the commenters reportedly said the claims made by Mosul Eye are hard to believe though ISIS has a reputation of committing the most barbaric crimes ever witnessed.
