The Brazilian court has struck down the lower court ruling on the ban of the popular messaging service- Whatsapp.

The lower court had passed the order banning Whatsapp in relation to a criminal case because it wouldn't hand over user information.

Judge Xavier de Souza over-ruled the verdict of the lower court and ruled that, "in light of the constitutional principles, it doesn't seem reasonable that millions of users rare affected because of the inaction of the corporation to hand over the information to the court.

Mark Zuckerberg, who heads Whatsapp parent company, Facebook, said, " I am stunned that our efforts to protect peoples data would result in such an extreme decision by a single judge to punish every person in Brazil who uses Whatsapp".
