Video: Wearable Vest Enables Dogs To Communicate With Humans

Dogs render priceless service to physically challenged and even epileptic patients, by removing them to remote corners before they get attacks. However, there may be some moments when the dogs would want to help, but not be able to communicate.

Hence, Melody Jackson, a computer scientist from Georgia Tech, has invented an "animal-computer interaction campaign". Her new dog vest has some computer functions that would enable dogs to interact with humans with just a button, or their noses hovering over a touchpad. The vest also has GPS coordinates and an SOS alert.

Trained dogs can respond to instructions. The vest can also train them to learn what buttons to press.

The idea is exciting and is the first step to more human-animal interaction. Scientists are hoping to help humans communicate with dolphins, cats, and even horses!

Jackson is inventing some sensors to monitor horses and "broadcast signs of impending lameness", according to WIRED.
