Space Lovers Will Now Be Able to See Black Hole with their Naked Eyes
Good news for all those people who are fascinated by the black hole. Now all you need is a 20 cm telescope to observe the closest active black hole. Researchers from Kyoto University said that this phenomenal activity can be seen by visible light during flare-ups. It is this flickering light that emerges from the gases surrounding the black hole is a direct indicator of its presence. According to the team's findings, it is the optical rays that offer dependable observational data for the black hole activity and not just he x-rays. Lead author of the study, Mariko Kimura, said now they know that the observations are possible with the optical rays and that the black holes are possible to be seen without the high-spec X-ray or telescope fitted with gamma-rays. Once in many years, some of the binaries in a black hole undergo explosions in which an enormous amount of energy, including X-rays is released from the substances that fall into the black hole. Activities that happen inside the accretion disk, the one that normally surrounds the black hole, is what is observed through the x-rays as the temperatures reach 10 million degrees Kelvin or more, said Financial Express.
V404 Cygni, the binary that is thought to be the closest to earth woke up after over two decades of inactivity on 15th June 2015 due to the outburst it went through. It is during this outburst that the team was able to obtain extraordinary amount of data from V404 Cygni, identifying repetitive patterns with timescales of several minutes to a few hours, said Business Standard
