Funding Goal Achieved by Psychonauts 2

Psychonauts 2, the Fig-funded game developed by Double Fine has achieved its funding goal of $3.3 million 5-days ahead of its campaign end date. Fig has just recently entered the crowdfunding business with a system that allows for Kickstarter like funding model suitable to both regular investors and large investment backing companies that will help make the financial returns, assuming that the game becomes successful. So far, Psychonauts 2 has already raised equally from both the sources, that is $1.6 million from investment companies and $1.60 million from the regular backers. Even though Fig was viewed by skepticism when it was launched, it seems to be doing just fine helping Double Fine reach their goal well within time. However, it is yet to be see how the game will do in the long-term and if the investors in the project will really get some return on their money, reported Destructoid.

The game launched its crowdfunding campaign in December last year and has already met with its funding goal of a whopping $3.3 million. The developers used Fig to launch their campaign giving the developers best of both worlds in terms of investments and returns. This game is all set to release in Fall of 2018, said bleeding cool

"We want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible," the developer said in its latest update. "We've wanted to make this game for a long time, and now we finally can! So thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Psychonauts 2's has raised a total of $3,316,744. "Everything we raise will go into making the game better, bigger, and shinier, so let's keep going!" Double Fine said of its final days campaigning.
