According to a photographic evidence by Tech Crunch, Facebook may be working on official messenger app for Mac. This report is accompanied with a blurry photo of the expected pre-release version of Facebook Messenger App that was being tested by a Facebook employee on a MacBook. "TechCrunch has obtained photographic evidence and an eyewitness report that Facebook has built an as-yet-unreleased Facebook Messenger For Mac desktop app," says the report. "The photo ... shows a Facebook employee using it."

Facebook declined to comment on the statement or provide any confirmation saying, "We don't comment on rumor or speculation." The company has been aggressively promoting its chat app feature as it helps Facebook sell more ads. The more people use the company's messenger, the more they get connected with Facebook's family of features and apps such the news feed. Messaging has been the future of mobile and the instant access offered by Facebook messenger, regardless of the device it is being used on, makes it all the more valuable for everyone, regardless of what device they are using it through, reported Tech Crunch.

By detaching the messenger service from Facebook, it made it easier for the people to avoid the ads. However, this is one sacrifice that the company is happy to make increase its chances of becoming the best chat app out there. To lure more users into the messenger platform of Facebook, the company introduced video chat, interesting nicknames, colors and emojis. However, now the company has re-shifted its focus on the desktop app due to the popular demand for a desktop messenger. There is no information available about when and if the messenger will be released anytime soon, says Tech Times
