Tests Show That Domino's Pizzas Contain More Oil And Calories Than Officially Claimed
Domino's pizzas, now are unhealthy!
Tests conducted for a Channel 4 program called "Tricks of the Restaurant trade," show that a Domino's cheese and tomato pizza contains a deadly 13 percent more calories and 11 percent more fat than the "official nutritional information" that had been put out by the company, reveals The Daily Mail.
However, Domino's isn't the only culprit. A medium-sized pizza from Papa John's showed about 58 grams of fat, and a pulled pork Napoli pizza from Zizzi revealed 68 grams of fat.
That, at any rate, is like consuming about 6.5 bags of Walkers crisps, says The Daily Star.
In a reply to the study, Domino's has stated that because every pizza by the company is assembled by hand, it wouldn't take too much for the calorie and fat content to shoot up, if a few grams of cheese were lopped on to it.
"The variations are within the limits allowed by law but we recognize that giving our customers accurate information to make informed choices is important. That's why we've taken this opportunity to remind our team members of the need to ensure the amount of cheese and toppings per pizza, are as close as possible to our guideline amounts," Domino's spokesperson Louise Bulter said.
Last week, the Food and Drug Administration cautioned that even conventional pizza boxes might have harmful chemicals, such as perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances. Now these tend to increase the risk of cancer, according to Yahoo! News.
