How Long Should You Wait After the Miscarriage to Try Again? 3 Months Says Study
It is heartbreaking to endure a miscarriage and a personal decision to try again. However, the medical experts can offer recommendations about the best the time when the individuals are ready for conception. A team of scientists suggests that the couples can try after three months of miscarriage to have a higher possibility of becoming pregnant again. As per the findings of the study, there is a 71% chance that they will be likely to conceive again. The study does not prove that reattempting the baby after miscarriage will make the pregnancy to happen sooner or result in a healthier baby after 9 months. But it does suggest that the women do not have to wait longer than three months to try again, as reported by Daily Mail
According to Sr. Researcher Dr. Enrique Schisterman, of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, said "Couples often seek counseling on how long they should wait until attempting to conceive again. Our data suggest that women who try for a new pregnancy within three months can conceive as quickly, if not quicker, than women who wait for three months or more." The research was conducted on nearly 1,000 couples who went through an early pregnancy miscarriage. Of these 1,000 couples, as many as 765 couples tried to get pregnant within the first three months, of which 77% gave birth to a live baby, as reported by Huffington Post. "For women with an uncomplicated early pregnancy loss, our data show that there is no basis for delaying trying to become pregnant," said Schisterman, an epidemiologist at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in Rockville, Maryland.
