Charlie Sheen Claims He May Have Bipolar Disorder
The controversial Hollywood figure and star of The Anger Management, Charlie Sheen, frenzied the media once again with his bold claim that he may have bipolar disorder amid his ongoing struggle with HIV.
It seems like Charlie Sheen has taken an extreme liking to revealing everything about himself with Dr. Mehmet Oz from his shocking HIV-positive diagnosis due to his Casanova affairs with women and his close relationship with his actor-dad, Martin Sheen. This time he opened up something about his mental health.
Sheen candidly admitted to Dr. Oz of his regular manic episodes which was taken as possible signs of bipolar disorder by medical experts whom he consulted with over the years.
"I've been described or diagnosed by enough people that I guess at some point you have to take a look at it," said 50-year old Sheen as quoted by Daily Mail.
When asked about how the condition have affected his life, the Two and a Half Men actor retorted that it could somehow explain his erratic behavior that the public is pretty much aware of.
"The majority of, in my experience with the manic behavior is usually in the throes of deep partying, deep substance abuse and drinking. It doesn't really happen when I'm not doing that, it has never really reared its head, "explained Charlie as quoted in a report by E Online.
He further stated that even though he's currently not on treatment for bipolar, he would seriously look at such option if the situation so requires in the future.
According to Mirror, people diagnosed with bipolar often manifest erratic swings of manic (extreme high) and depressive (extreme lows) moods.
