While Zika spreads widely, there are double attempts to help people protect themselves, according to Consumer Reports. Ratings of bug sprays have been released to everyone, not just to its subscribers, according to CBS.

The best-performing sprays are listed as: Sawyer Fisherman's Formula Picaridin, Repel Lemon Eucalyptus, Repel Scented Family, Natrapel 8 Hours and Off! Deepwoods VIII. The main ingredients in these products that work effectively are Deet, picaridin and oil of lemon eucalyptus. The sprays have reportedly kept mosquitoes at bay for a long time after application too.

While Zika affects many American countries, many travellers are reportedly changing flights, and airlines like Lufthansa and British Airways are even giving refunds and exchanges, reports CNN.

Advice has been given by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for pregnant women to prevent travelling to affected areas. Though Zika is not verifiable by symptoms to the persons bitten, it seems to lead to microcephaly for newborn babies, even though the cause has not been completely verified.
