New deal struck between two companies, Acer and Microsoft, means that the latter will have productivity apps preloaded in Android tablets and smartphones produced by the former. The announcement was made by Microsoft regarding the collaboration of two and noted that Acer tablets and smartphones will have the Microsoft tools from second half of 2016. After this deal, Acer joins other companies like LG, Dell, Asus, Samsung and Sony that are onboard with Microsoft's apps preloaded in their devices. Just like arrangement with other companies, Acer's partnership with Microsoft will also be a part of patent licensing agreement, reports PC World

In second of 2016, Android-powered smartphones and tablets manufactured by Acer will come with pre-installed Microsoft apps. The apps include office apps - PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Excel, Word - and Skype and OneDrive.

These deals are important for Microsoft if they need to make an indelible mark in the mobile industry. With Lumia sales shrinking and Windows 10 not gaining enough traction, getting apps installed in Android devices by default through patent deals is a great way to take its products visible to millions of users. Luckily for Microsoft, its Android apps work flawlessly. However sometimes, the users may not feel very happy to find pre-loaded apps in their device as it takes up precious space and deprives them of the apps that they really want. Now that almost all the Android device makers come pre-installed with Microsoft apps, it is left to be seen if the consumers like this strategy as much as Microsoft does, says Android Central
