A.I. Revolution May Create A Huge Sea Of Unemployment, Expert
With the rising prevalence of robots as well as artificial intelligence in the world, the revolution is going to sweep people off their jobs.
Says Moshe Vardi, an expert from Rice University, that working people are going to face huge challenges, reports Market Business News.
It is quite possible that there will be a large mass of middle-class workers without jobs.
"We are approaching a time when machines will be able to outperform humans at almost any task. I believe that society needs to confront this question before it is upon us. If machines are capable of doing almost any work humans can do, what will humans do? " he said.
Robots might make your life easy and comfortable, according to A.I. developers such as Google's head of engineering, Ray Kurzweil, yet this is a worrying thought, feels Vardi.
"I do not find this a promising future, as I do not find the prospect of leisure-only life appealing. I believe that work is essential to human well-being," he said.
In face, automation should enter the field of government worry. It is going to wipe out half the workers from their jobs on earth.
"This issue of automation and employment, which is going to be one of the biggest policy issues for the next 25 years, if not longer, and now we're in a presidential election year, this issue is just nowhere on the radar screen," he said.
