The rumor about iPhone 7 bringing a paradigm shift in the smartphone industry is pretty rife. The highly anticipated iPhone 7 claims to lose the 3.5mm headphone jack and go with a lightening port instead. This will not only make the iPhone thinner but will also improve its noise cancellation capabilities.

So far, people have reacted differently to the rumor. While some refuse to buy the iPhone 7 if 3.5mm jack is truly removed, there are also a set of people that believe that it is about time that the headphone jack retired. Besides how many people use the wired headphones anyway? People these days prefer to use wireless headphones that can be bought as low as $10, says Phone Dog.

Japanese website, Mac Otakara, reported about 2 months back that Apple is preparing to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack on its new iPhone and replace it with an all-in-one Lightning connecter. The rumor gained further traction when a Chinese website mentioned that a supply chain has reportedly confirmed that the rumor is true. Both these website reaffirm that the iPhone 7 will not have the headphone jack and that will Apple will introduce its own set of Bluetooth headphones, Mac Rumors reported

The industry experts claim that 3.5mm headphones are not obsolete as yet. There are many in the industry who still use them. Apple's move to lose the jack can be seen as a compatibility antic, the same way their chargers are isolated for their phones. To isolate the headphones will force the users to buy things that may otherwise seem unnecessary but something their phones won't work without, reported International Hack Times
