Apollo 10 Astronauts Heard Eerie 'Outer Space Music': NASA
Was it aliens hiding in the dark of the moon singing out to the crew of Apollo 10? NASá's declassified mission transcripts show astronauts aboard the capsule had described a sound as 'outer space music'.
Astronauts Eugene Cernan and John Young heard sounds in their headsets as they flew onto the dark side of the moon and lost radio contact with Earth. The spacecraft was out of contact for about an hour. A new TV series about the eerie sounds shows retired astronaut Al Worden saying he would have freaked out if he had heard those sounds.
"If I were to hear something back there, the first thing probably, it would freak me out," he said according to New York Post.
According to CNN, a NASA TV technician on the show said the sounds were a result of radio interference. It was also reported that Apollo 11 pilot Michael Collins who flew to the far side of the moon, heard similar sounds which had disappeared when he landed on moon's surface.
Al Worden however says on TV show that the recorders caught something 'unexplained' out there.
The moon has been a favorite haunt for 'alien sightings'. Allegations against the US government and NASA include hiding UFO information from the public. Some popular themes about moon in discussions regarding extraterrestrials including the argument that moon astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong saw UFOs when they landed.
