Xbox One Live is Down as the Issue Persists
February doesn't look that good for Microsoft's online gaming infrastructure. According to complaints on social media, the gamers reported Xbox Live being down after it went offline around noon PST. Microsoft confirmed the issue on their Twitter account. People are unable to restart their digital games and have trouble logging into Xbox Live. This means that if you have trial versions on your console, they may not start.
This is the second week when disruptions on Xbox Live have been reported, an elemental service in making money for its gaming division. Even though everyone might not pay for the Gold membership on Xbox Live, there are still people out there who do not mind paying for the premium services such as access to special deals and discounts as well as online multiplayer. As a result, such failures may infuriate anyone who is paying $60 a year so that Microsoft can keep its servers running, reports VentureBeat
"Xbox members, are you having trouble purchasing new content? We're aware of the issue and our team is working to find a fix, ASAP," reads the latest Xbox Live status update. "Thanks for being patient in the meantime! We'll provide an update as soon as we have more information."
The disturbance caused in the Xbox Live has been attributed to New World Hackers, an online group that specializes in disrupting the websites and services. They have claimed responsibility for recent outage that is impacting the live service offered by Xbox.
Speaking to Newsweek, a member of the group explained the reason why they hit Xbox Live. "Well, didn't even take as long as I thought,"
"We attacked Xbox to protest. Major companies like this have massive servers but no real protection.
"We want Xbox to update the protection they have, which isn't much.
"[We could] honestly knock Xbox off the face of the Earth," as reported by Express
