The HTC Butterfly 3 sports a 5.2 inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and 565 ppi screen density. The phone has dimensions measuring 151 x 73 x 10 mm and weighing approximately 161 grams, along with a multi touch feature, and HTC Sense 7 UI.

 On the media front of the phone, the HTC Butterfly 3 features a 20.2 mega pixels primary camera with LED flash, auto focus, geo tagging and a 13 mega pixels secondary camera, and comes with an internal storage capacity of 32 GB, which could be further expanded up to 200 GB via a dedicated slot for microSD card.

The HTC Butterfly 3 operates on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (planned upgrade to v6.0 Adnroid Marshmallow) platform and is equipped with a quad core 1.5 GHz Cortex A-53 & Quad core 2.0 GHz Cortex A57 processor, a Aderno 430 GPU, along with a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset and a 3 GB of RAM.

The HTC Butterfly 3 offers Wi Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, dual SIM, dual standby, USB OTG and, connectivity options, alongside Dolby audio sound. It also has features like fast battery charging, active noise cancellation with dedicated mic and document editor and so on.

The HTC Butterfly 3 is powered by a non removable Li Ion 2,700 mAh battery, which facilitates a stand by time of up to 363 hours (2G) / up to 416 hours (3G) and a talk time of up to 26 hours (2G) / up to 21 hours (3G).
