Handling depression and low levels of vitamin D can improve heart health

Cardiovascular epidemiologist Heidi May, PhD, MSPH  who led the research said that the study shows prompt, effective treatment of depression appears to improve the risk of poor heart health.

"The key conclusion of our study is: If depression isn't treated, the risk of cardiovascular complications increases significantly," the medical researcher and physician added.

Low levels of the two constituents of both total vitamin D and bioavailable vitamin D are closely connected to a risk factor of suffering a cardiovascular disease such as stroke and heart failure.
