Free Office Food Can Cause Weight Gain Among Workers

Employees are always on the prowl for benefits that companies can give though such does not always come in the form of money. It could be getting stuff at slashed prices or perhaps the most simple way to keep them health – food.

This could come in the form of free meals or snacks which employees can look forward to when breaks come in. Depending on the company’s call, it could be abundant or limited. From a laborer’s point of view, that could go a long way especially when it comes to spending for meals or snacks.

But while that perk is minimal and likely something many would applaud, is it healthy? Everyone knows the stress work can bring and some use food as an outlet. With that in mind, some folks may be overlooking the fact that they are gaining pounds and losing that figure as singled out by Pop Sugar.

This doesn’t apply to everyone of course, particularly the ones who take pride watching their figure and food consumption. But what are the chances of them forgetting all that with all the stuff they have to accomplish in the office?

An ideal recourse would be to control or follow a certain set of natural snacks which are rich in protein or fiber.

An apple is a prime example. A study claims that people stand to save themselves 187 calories when consuming one before a meal. An apple alone is about 100 calories when consumed though some could sweeten that up a bit with some spread like nut butter.

Aside from fruits, sipping on some healthy soup could be great. Lentils are considered one of the most nutritious and protein-packed meals one can consider getting in the market. In fact, serving lentils can even help direct weight-watching employees towards the direction of better figures.

For most, turning to fruits and vegetables in the office when all those tempting snacks are out there will be hard to overcome (at first). Hence, eating healthy and keeping that figure of yours is not limited only to the things you consume but will power as well.

The free office snacks are neat but may not work to your advantage. Avoiding them could be a good idea too though if you must, try to limit your consumption as much as you can.
