WWE Payback is counting down and there are some key matches to look forward to. That includes the showdown between undisputed WWE heavyweight champion Roman Reigns and veteran wrestling icon AJ Styles.

The word out is that there will be no title changes for the upcoming event at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois though the storyline angle seems to be more interesting to see.

For the ones religiously following the WWE regular shows, many may have noticed the constant intrusion of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Both have been linked to Styles since they were all part of the famed Bullet Club during their New Japan Pro Wrestling days.

With that in mind, one would think that Styles will get a lot of help against Reigns courtesy of Gallows and Anderson. But if rumors are true, it may be the exact opposite. In fact, it is believed that both will even cost Styles the title which will likely end up in chaos before the night is over.

Then there is the case of Finn Balor, the former WWE NXT champion who recently lost the title to Samoa Joe. That loss sent shockwaves to the WWE universe, hinting that it could signal the expected coming of the Bulletproof Balor Club where “The Demon” is expected to be the leader.

Balor has since reiterated that he plans to stick with the NXT brand though many feel that he could be crossing over or playing possum to throw the WWE universe off track. It remains to be seen as well if Balor will be in some way involved in the WWE heavyweight title match.

There is also the angle of the alleged faction doing nothing more than setting things right, calling to mind “The Shield” days which starred Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins before each went their separate ways.

For his part, Reigns is still hearing the boos and jeers and his role in all of this remains to be seen. Could he align with the new faction in case it does get born at the coming WWE pay-per-view? Or will he align with Styles and take on the Bulletproof Balor Club, a familiar alliance where two stars take on factions once again?

Right now, the Bulletproof Balor Club seems to be stealing the thunder from under the noses of the main cards. It could happen though the WWE creative team may have more twists ahead.
