Heartburn is an unpleasant feeling that is triggered when acids from the stomach are pushed through the esophagus. A burning sensation could be felt in the chest mostly in the food tract. Aloe Juice

Drinking aloe juice is said to be the best remedy for heartburn. Aloe which is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties is said to cure the heartburn as well. Since aloe is a laxative, make sure to drink it only when you are at home.

Chewing gums

Surprisingly, chewing gums can help relieve you from heartburn. When we chew gums the salivary secretion is increased and when the saliva secreted is ingested the acid accumulated in the gut is washed away. Chewing gums are also believed to help reduce the symptoms of gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Eat a banana or an apple

"Bananas contain natural antacids that can act as a buffer against acid reflux. If you want to try out the simplest home remedies for heartburn first, try letting a few bananas ripen up nicely and eating one every day. Another option is to try an apple a day. Slice one up and eat it a couple of hours before bedtime to relieve or prevent discomfort," reported Everyday Roots.

Apple cider vinegar

Drinking three teaspoons or one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with six to eight ounces of water is recommended for relieving heartburn. It is good to take it before every meal or two times a day.

Ginger root tea

Ginger is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties and drinking ginger root tea helps in relieving all kinds of stomach problems including indigestion, nausea, and even heartburn.

Slippery elm

"Despite limited research, slippery elm has been used in herbal remedies for centuries to treat a variety of illnesses, including GERD symptoms. This tree extract thickens the layer of mucous lining the stomach, says Dr. Blum, creating a stronger barrier against acid," noted Health.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a base and therefore it neutralizes the acid as soon as it is taken in. You can drink a glass of water with half to one teaspoon of baking soda for quick relief.
