Justin Bieber Dead? PETA Attacks 'Sorry' Singer Over Tiger Pic
Justin Bieber posted a picture of him in social media with a leashed tiger during his dad's engagement party which an animal rights group has warned as a deadly thing for a person to do ever in life. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has noted Bieber that he is lucky enough not to have his throat torn by the big cat.
Bieber was found stroking the head of a leashed feline in the photograph that surfaced online taken on April 30 at his dad's engagement party. Justin's dad Jeremy Bieber was engaged to his longtime girlfriend Chelsey Rebelo at his private residence in Toronto. During the bash, an art show named Nyotaimori Celebrating Life Love And Art organized as a part of the celebration exhibited a leashed Bengal tiger, according to TV3 Expose.
The photo posted by Justin Bieber with the deadly tiger on Instagram went viral and PETA in no time cautioned the 22-year-old singer how dangerous it is to try to pet a leashed animal as fierce as a tiger. "Justin Bieber is lucky not to have had his throat torn out by this stressed, captive tiger," PETA Senior VP Lisa Lange said in a statement to The News. "Tigers used for photo ops are torn away from their mothers shortly after birth," noted Daily News.
The PETA representative also added that she suspects the tiger is brought in from the Ontario's Bowmansville Zoo and as a matter of fact the director of the zoo was charged five counts of animal cruelty a month ago. The zoo director Michael Hackenberger was caught in a video repeatedly whipping a young tiger which led him to step down from his position later last month.
"The Bowmanville Zoo, in particular, was caught whipping one tiger more than 17 times, even after the cat was lying on his back in a position of submission and fear," Lange's statement continued. "This is why PETA urges everyone to stay far away from cruel and dangerous big cat photo ops and also why we're asking Justin to vow that this will be his last time promoting these types of abusive outfits."
