50 Cent Makes Fun Of Autistic Janitor: Victim Receives Apology From Rapper
Curtis Jackson, the rapper well known as 50 cent got into a controversy lately by mocking an autistic airport janitor in a video on social media. 50 cent who landed himself in huge trouble and criticism soon apologized to the worker and his family for his blunder.
The rapper uploaded a video on Twitter where the janitor, Andrew Farrell was seen pushing a cart towards the terminal at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport. 50 cent commented in the video that the new generation is crazy and noted that the janitor seemed "high as a motherf--r," according to Page six.
50 cent, who was at Cincinnati for the promotion of a liquor brand, seems to have taken his spare time at the airport to invite trouble. The 19-year-old Farrell reportedly has trouble in communicating because of his health condition which the rapper seems to have no idea about.
"While the incident at the airport resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding, I am truly sorry for offending the young man," the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, told Page Six in a statement. "It was certainly not my intent to insult him or the disability community, which is a source of great strength in America. I have apologized personally to him and his family."
The media were on overdrive about the issue and there were also reports that the family of the janitor is demanding for compensation for the disgrace 50 cent had brought to Farrell. But the attorney Matthew J. Hammer clarified Page Six that the family is expecting only for a sincere apology and not any money from the rapper.
"We would first like to thank everyone for the amazing amount of support that they have shown over the past few days. It has been an emotional roller coaster that we are ready to put to rest. As requested, we have received a letter apologizing for 50 Cent's behavior and we have chosen to accept it, along with a request that a donation is made to Autism Speaks. Though a letter of apology will not undo what 50 Cent has put our family through, we are choosing to forgive," noted the family in reply to 50 cent apology, reported WLWT.
