BFF Goals: Justin Bieber Hater Taylor Swift On 'Hands To Myself' Singer Selena Gomez & Their Friendship
Post-childhood besties Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are a Hollywood-BFF-Goals-envy especially that the former has stood her ground on the "Hands To Myself" artist's erratic romance run-ins with ex-beau Justin Bieber. They may have a slight gap in the age department, Swift is 26, Gomez is 22, but both artists have been supportive of each other's endeavors through the years - a bond that has been championed by Hollywood insiders, according to E! Online.
Swift's affectations with the opposite sex is a case study paradigm itself as she has made it a secret open book for her art but it is her extensive friendship with Gomez that has made them a unique pair. Both have admitted they have been each other's shoulder to cry on from heart-wrenching boy-girl relationship endings to feuds with other Hollywood luminaries.
The website mentioned a quote from Gomez: "I mean I've known her for 10 years, she's been one of my best friends through thick and thin, walked by my side. Her whole family has been so supportive of me and yeah, she's been there during crucial points in my life and in my career."
So it comes to no surprise that everyone had their eyes set on rolling when both BFFs during the 2016 Met Gala last Monday in spite of Gomez's admission that they will be pairing up for the event. However, both were not spotted at close quarters with each other as Swift was the co-organizer of the event and eventually arrived as an early bird on the red carpet which probably messed up their plan for BFF selfies with each other via the limelight.
Despite being fashioned by the same couture, Louis Vuitton, the pals went different roads for the night. Swift after spending time on the dance floor immediately cuddled with the Haim sisters for a pizza after party while Gomez was seen talking with Aussie model Miranda Kerr. Whatever their reasons for laying off being together for the night, Swift had already etched it in stone in a past interview as mentioned in the website.
"People think they have my relationships all mapped out. There were all these blogs, like, 'Are they feuding? Are they fighting? Meanwhile, Selena and I would be on the phone that night, laughing about it. We let them have that one," she added.
It can be remembered that earlier this year, that Swift has continued to be vocal about Gomez's relationship with Justin Bieber, according to Hollywood Life. Swift earnestly told Gomez "to be careful and not to put all her eggs in one basket" as she may again have her heart broken.
