Channing Tatum Sits Down With Autistic Reporter In 'Speechless with Carly Fleischmann'
Autism is a disease that may be hard to come by but there are exceptions. It could all depend on the extent of its effect though some therapeutic work may help allude and find a cure for it.
Carly Fleischmann was diagnosed with severe autism at the age of 2 which included oral motor condition that kept her from speaking. At that time, doctors feared that Carly may not be able to develop beyond the abilities of a child.
But at the age of 10, she was able to type “HELP TEETH HURT” on a laptop as she was working with some therapists. And from then on, such provided her with a different way to communicate.
Today, the 21-year-old broke the ice on her web series titled “Speechless with Carly Fleischmann” and her very first guest was no other than actor Channing Tatum. With the aid of a keyboard, Carly was able to place Tatum on the spot on various occasions, covering various topics ranging from his career up to his personal life.
“He has been a stripper, a police officer, a secret agent, a reporter, a boyfriend to many and soon he will dump his wife to be with me. I welcome Channing Tatum.”
Among the actual tough questions that Carly asked included “What does Channing's wife do that he doesn't understand? How many girls would he leave work with when he was a stripper? Would he date a 21-year-old with autism?”
When the roast was over, Carly was very thankful to Channing for helping her fulfill a dream of being a talk-show host.
"Thank you, Channing, for this once-in-a-lifetime interview," she said. "My bags are at your house and I'm ready to move in!"
In response, Tatum kissed Carly on the head four times and told her,” You are so sweet.”
For Tatum, the experience is something different but in all heartfelt. Despite a normally busy schedule on his end, taking time out to practically grant a dream is something that only people with big hearts are likely to apply.
He may have not said it but the gesture and his actions at the end of the first episode of the web series says it all – heartwarming and touching.
