For tens of thousands of fans eagerly waiting for "The Last Of Us 2," action-adventure horror game from Naughty Dog, the release date could be sometime around next month. It is rumored widely that the second installment of "The Last Of Us" could be out during the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, which is set in June.

The rumor mills were on over drive few months back when the voice artist of the character David, Nolan North spilled the beans that a sequel of the horror game is in the making. While the excited fans were expecting an update on the release date of "The Last Of Us 2," North withdrew his statement and disappointed the game lovers.

The flame that was put out was rekindled by the Naughty Dog creative director, Neil Druckmann when he revealed that he has already discussed his ideas about "The Last Of Us 2" with Bruce Staley, the director of the game.

"Our next focus is the single player ['Uncharted 4'] DLC and then, once we have enough resources, resurrect all those prototypes; see where we're at, see where the teams at, what they're excited for and go from there," Druckmann added, according to Yibada.

"Aside from rolling our plans for Joel and Ellie, Neil Drunkmann also said that they already built prototypes. However, he revealed that he and Bruce Staley were asked to work on "Uncharted 4" first despite having been able to think of plans about "The Last of Us 2" game," according to Game N Guide.

The rumors have it that the second installment of "The Last of Us" would allegedly be named as "Days Gone." There are doubts whether Joel and Ellie will be portrayed as the main characters again since the previous installment has had a perfect ending for the characters.

On the other hand, few reports also note that "The Last of US 2" will be a prequel which will focus on "Marlene's journey towards becoming the leader of The Fireflies." The game will allegedly focus on how Marlene gained her position.

However, from the recent rumor that the game will be out during E3 2016 we see a new hope for "The Last of Us 2" release yet again.
