Samsung Unveils New 256GB EVO Plus MicroSD Card At Much Cheaper Price

Samsung has unveiled a new microSD card named EVO Plus with 256GB capacity; the memory offered is highest of all other microSD cards of the sort. Users that are looking for more storage capacity for their mobile phones can now benefit of the 256GB EVO Plus card at a much affordable price.

The storage capacity of the card will enable the user to save data up to 12 hours of 4K UHD video or 33 hours of Full HD video. The memory card can otherwise enable recording about 46 hours of HD Video or help store 55,200 photos. As far as music is concerned, about 23,500 MP3 songs can be saved in the single 256GB EVO Plus card.

The memory card which is included in UHS-1, Class 10 speed class said to offer fast read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90MB/s and this functionality is attributed to Samsung's V-NAND technology. The special feature of Samsung EVO Plus card is that it offers protection against temperature, water and X-ray which makes it best in class among memory cards in the market.

"The new EVO Plus 256GB used the third generation 48-layer V-NAND flash memory chip, raising the read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90 MB/s respectively. It is rated at Ultra High Speed (UHS) Speed Class 3 (U3) by the SD Association, meaning that the device has a minimum writing speed of 30MB per second," according to Pulse.

Samsung also offers 10 years warranty for 256GB EVO Plus card with "advanced protection, capacity, and performance with long-term reliability." The high capacity memory card can be used in the Samsung smartphones or just any mobile phone which has a memory slot that support such an incredible storage option. This card is also said to be compatible with cameras and other related gadgets.

"The card will be available in the USA, Europe and China this June, with an MSRP of $249.99. Comparatively, the 200GB microSD card from SanDisk sells for just $79 on Amazon, so you can probably expect Samsung's newest microSD to be even more affordable than its MSPR once it launches," reported BGR.
