'Mass Effect' Release Date Delayed: 'Andromeda' Leaked Clips Show Same Specs As 'Mass Effect 3'
Gamers who were eager to see “Mass Effect: Andromeda” may have to wait one more year before the game comes out in the open with word that the long-awaited fourth game from Bioware’s sci-fi RPG series release date has been pushed to 2017.
Word of such comes no less from Bioware general manager Aaryn Flyn who made the unfortunate revelation via blog post on MassEffect.com.
The game was teased at E3 last year via short video together with a formal reveal of its official name, and such initially signalled a potential release this year. But all this was with the assumption that next game instalment would come out with the necessary improvements and features that would make it appealing to the end user.
"We've been playing the game at the studio recently, it's showing us that we're taking the game in the right direction," explains Flynn. "But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be -- that's our commitment from all of us to you."
Flynn also emphasized that the game will be running on EA's Frostbite engine, delivering "visuals, story, and gameplay which would be a first in the gaming franchise’s history.
Though the delay may be a setback for the hardcore gamers, they may be able to catch a glimpse of what it may have to offer on June 12 where “Mass Effect: Andromeda” will reportedly be shown at EA’s E3 press conference.
Until that time comes, the guessing game commences on what improvements the said game will carry. Many believe that the game will likely carry on what it had offered on previous versions. That may include touching on improved combat experience and better adventures on far-away galaxy settings.
New player characters are likely to be injected in “Mass Effect: Andromeda”, most of which were seen at the trailer shown at E3 last year. At least one Krogan is expected to be in the mix. One character that could possibly be up is one named “Ryder”, a name seen in one of the pair of dog tags seen at the video from “N7 Day” shown last November.
