While, Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is keeping mum on the official release date of its much awaited flagship dubbed "OnePlus 3," it is rumored that the launch may happen in a week from now.

According to a report from the Tech Times, "OnePlus 3" is rumored to get launched on May 18. The information comes courtesy of Gizmo China, the website popular for its accurate release date predictions of smartphones from Chinese OEMs.

"OnePlus 3 is rumored to be launching on May 18 this month and this smartphone alone has kept the internet abuzz," the Gizmo China report reads.

Recently, alleged leaked images of "One Plus 3" was published by tech blog PhoneArena. As per the leaked pictures, the upcoming OnePlus flagship will sport a new design which will be completely different from the previous flagships. It will sport a metal design as well as a fingerprint reader.

The OnePlus 2 successor, as spotted in the pictures, will have an antenna band on its topside. The "Home" button will be seen on the front side of the device.

As far as the "OnePlus 3" specifications are concerned, it is expected that the upcoming smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch display with 1,920×1,080 pixels. It will be powered a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The handset will run the latest version of Google's Android operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, according to Christian Daily.

There are also rumors which suggest that OnePlus flagship will be launched in two variants. While, one will carry 16 GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM, the other will have a 64GB internal memory and a 4GB RAM.

The smartphone will also possibly sport a 16 megapixel (MP) rear camera with OIS support and 4K video recording capabilities and an 8 MP front-facing camera with a powerful 3,500mAh battery.

Talking about the pricing details, it is rumored that the 32 GB and 64 GB models of the handset will sport a price tag of $310 and $385, respectively.
