X-Men Apocalypse Movie Spoilers & Plot: Wolverine 3 Storyline & Cast Revealed?

By Brian McNeill | Update Date: May 13, 2016 06:00 AM EDT

The last time out, we did mention that there are concerns that the “X-Men: Apocalypse” film could turn out to be a disappointing film despite the fact the awesome trailers coming out. A lot of that is tied up to the fact that director Bryan Singer may have put in too much characters that basically went to waste.

That verdict remains to be seen of course and eventual viewers will be left to leave their own opinion on the upcoming film. While critics have said their piece, more feedback could either support or negate those claims.

While the plot seems obvious, Marvel has had the knack of keeping folks waiting until the post-credits. And as early now it looks like such will hint at what come’s next though some are already playing with the idea that it could be tied up to someone peculiarly absent from “X-Men: Apocalypse” – “Wolverine”.

Everyone knows by now that there will be a “Wolverine 3” movie, an R-rated one at that. The reason behind it is explained by producer Simon Kinberg at a press event claiming that it will be a "a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you've ever seen in any of the movies."

But for the ones familiar with the path of Marvel, it is obvious that the uncanny mutant will have to enter the scene at one point.

"I mean certainly the Wolverine movie is related to what happens at the end of it, but there’s also another character that’s introduced, at least in name, in the tag and he could show up in any host of different X-Men films. Maybe a Gambit movie, maybe another X-Men movie,” explains Kinberg on the post-credit scene for the upcoming film.

Right now, it will be interesting how things pan up though the landscape may have changed a bit following delays to the original planned release of “Gambit” this October.

On the other hand, “Wolverine 3” is set to come out next year and this is the film that could be the one Kinberg is referencing to. Aside from that, could there be a new villain in the midst?

Recall that in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, such paved the way for the coming of “Apocalypse” (Oscar Isaac). Who could be the next evil mind ahead for the uncanny “X-Men”?
