Despite divided reception, “Transformers 5: The Last Knight” will happen in July, 2017. Such was announced no less by Paramount Pictures which will be once again directed by Michael Bay.

Bay has gained heavy criticism for the poor reception of the previous installments but this hasn’t stopped the director from taking another shot at getting things right. Production for “Transformers 5: The Last Knight is set to kick off on June 6.

Aside from Bay, returning to appear in the fifth installment is Mark Wahlberg who will be joined by Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael. Providing help to bay will be writers Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man) and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Production will be left at the hands of Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto.

The previous four “Transformers” movie has so far racked in about $3.7 billion at the box office. The previous one, “Transformers: Age of Extinction” was the second highest grossing in the series.

It remains to be seen what kind of plot the fifth installment will bring with the folks over at Paramount tight-lipped. It may be possible that they are still clueless of the plans or perhaps because everything has been securely kept under wraps.

And while that is in play, the only thing ideal for now is to turn to the rumor mill and gain some creative ideas and twists that may make some sense.

First of is the title itself which begs to ask, “Who is the First Knight?” The easy answer there is likely to point to “Optimus” who had some sort of upgrade when he got that Samurai/medieval armor plus a sword in the prequel. Could it be another version of the famed “Autobot” leader?

Now take note that it doesn’t have to be limited to a hero role. There is a chance that something comes over “Optimus” which may tie up the purple eye-color in the Instagram post announcement.

If not a corrupted prime, perhaps there could be a new enemy in the midst like a “Nemesis Prime” as speculated by Screen Rant.

The possibilities are endless and expect a lot of critics to come up with their wild renditions on what the “Transformers 5: The Last Knight” is all about.

The film is slated to be shown on June 23, 2017 which will be followed by a “Bumblebee” spin-off in 2018. “Transformers 6” could possibly be next in 2019 unless problems or Paramount chooses to nix the franchise.
