Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City Gets PS4, XBox One Remastered Versions
Warner Bros. has officially declared that they will be remastering both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City titles for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which finally reinforces the numerous leaks which were made available online.
According to Batman News, Virtuos, a Chinese company handled the developmental undertakings. This reworked set will grant fans a chance to play the first two Batman: Arkham titles including all Game of the Year edition bonus and downloadable content as it will come with all of the DLC released for the two games. Both titles will also offer improved graphics, as well as upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders.
The remasters were powered by Unreal Engine 4, a step up, as the original titles were done with Unreal Engine 3.
Virtuous has also in its resume co-developed Heavy Rain's PS4 version and backed the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. In addition, the company created assets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Batman: Return to Arkham will be available beginning July 26 and is also available for a pre-odred for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
The first two Batman Arkham games gained near-unanimous praise from critics. A review said:"everything about this game--the impressive visuals, stirring soundtrack, superb voice acting, fiendish puzzles, hard-hitting combat--feels like it has been lovingly crafted by a development team that's both knowledgeable and passionate about the source material."
Arkham City was also rated highly: "From the speedy exhilaration of soaring high above the streets to the atmospheric thrill of discovering long-forgotten secrets in the tunnels below Gotham, this is an unforgettable adventure that will keep you coming back to the cape and cowl long after you've seen the credits roll."
