Smartwatches are trend of the decade and there is a stiff-competition among electronic giants in developing the most user friendly devices that are technologically well advanced. The major problems in the smartwatches are they appear like replicas of smartphones and are very complicated to use.

Google that faced the above complaints after the release of Android wear is now all set to launch the Android Wear 2. With the release date of Android wear 2 set this fall or early autumn, it is reported that the company has focused a great deal in improving the existing features than introducing number of new features.

As far as the earlier launched Android wear is concerned, the company faced complaints like difficult-to-use interface and little support from third-party developers. Alongside improving the notification system and fitness tracking, Google is said to have worked on the interface and most importantly enabled the smartwatch work independently without the support of smartphones.

Now, the watches can be connected to internet directly without pairing them to smartphones. The watch users can now access internet via wifi, proxy over bluetooth and even cellular data. The battery life, which has been a big issue in smartphones is said to have been improved by Google in Android wear 2. Even with the access to internet the wearable is said to exhibit good battery life.

"Not only is the connectivity improved, but Android Wear 2.0 also lets you install apps directly to watches, instead of requiring them to be bundled in phone apps. David Singleton, the head of Google's Android Wear efforts, says that users will be able to browse and install smartwatch apps from the Play Store right on the watch itself," according to The Verge.

Now that the smartwatch can work fully standalone, the iPhone users can benefit more of the feature. However, the third party apps might not be available for the Android Wear when it is used with Apple's iOS. With ample new features the smartwatch would reportedly hit the market within this year.

"Although there have been some updates to Android Wear since its launch in 2014, a full version number is finally arriving for smartwatch owners bringing with it some cool new features. Google is calling it 'the most significant Android Wear update since its launch,'" reported Tech Advisor.
