While, Apple hasn't revealed anything about the Apple Watch 2 release date, specification and pricing details, it is expected that the second gen smartwatch might get a June launch.

Rumor mills have it that the Cupertino might release the Apple Watch 2 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is scheduled to begin on June 13 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco. There are also chances that the second gen smartwatch launch may happen during Apple's September event alongside iPhone 7 and 7Plus launch, according to The Bitbag.

As far as the Apple Watch 2 specifications are concerned, several leaks and rumors over the past months indicate that the upcoming smartwatch could be entirely independent from the iPhone. At present, the smart watch's main use is as an extension of the iPhone. The smartwatch can be used to make calls and send messages, but only using the iPhone's mobile connectivity, according to Parent Herald.

It is expected that the next generation Apple Watch will feature true cellular connectivity. This means users will be able to make calls, send texts and connect to the internet without the need of the iPhone. Rumors suggest the new watch will run the latest version of Watch OS 2.2.

While, recent reports are claiming that the Apple Watch 2 will arrive with the same design as its predecessor the original Apple Watch, it is expected that the upcoming smartwatch will come loaded with new and exciting features.

The Apple Watch 2 might pack a new processor that will deliver better performance for apps and overall watch performance. The iPhone maker is also planning to add a FaceTime camera to the smart watch for video calls.
