Microsoft is expected to come out with some new goodies at the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) event happening at the Los Angeles Convention Center this June that may include the new Xbox TV streamlining device.

Being a big event, Microsoft is expected to unveil a couple of other things though the word out right now is that it may include a new Xbox One Slim which could very well be the planned game console of the company for next year.

No half-baked upgrades, just full ones

If so, this could be the Xbox One that head Phil Spencer Rather is referring to. With Sony believed to be coming out with a Sony’s PlayStation 4.5 this September, Spencer had previously said that he was not a fan of a minor bump and would prefer to come out with a whole new and powerful game console.

“If we're going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people – an upgrade," as quoted from the Game Informer.

Should that be the case, folks present at the Los Angeles Convention Center may catch a formal glimpse on what Spencer and company have lined up for next year.

Xbox One Slim cheaper, filled with improvements

Rumors have it that the next Xbox One Slim will be lighter on the pocket and come with features that include 2 TB of hard drive space, smaller by about 40% of the current Xbox models and something that will support 4K video.

The 2017 Xbox is codenamed “Scorpio” and could eventually be a game console compatible with the Oculus Rift. It sparks belief that Microsoft could eventually pursue a partnership with Oculus meaning more virtual reality-based games ahead that will be to the advantage of hardcore gamers.

If all goes well, a potential partnership now provides a better picture in connection with a Microsoft strategy called “Project Helix”. It is no secret that Microsoft wants to work closely with Oculus tied up with big new exclusives like Halo Wars 2 and Sea of Thieves catered to both the Xbox One and PC.
