Samsung Galaxy C5 Price, Specs & Design: Phone Better Than Note Series?

Samsung has finally unveiled its new Galaxy C5 smartphone in China. The handset flaunts a metal unibody design which gives it a premium look and feel.

In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy C5 features a 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution and is built using an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset, coupled with a solid 4GB of RAM, and Andreno 405 GPU, according to Tech Times.

The handset is available in two internal storage options - 32GB and 64GB, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB in size. In terms of camera, the smartphone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Samsung Galaxy C5 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and offer dual-sim functionality. It also features a 2,600mAh battery with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 support, reported IBTimes. The C5 also features a fingerprint sensor and supports Samsung pay using NFC.

It is to be noted that the Galaxy C5 packs a host of features that makes it better than the Galaxy Note series handsets. The Galaxy C5 offers expandable memory support to up to 128 GB via microSD cards, while the Galaxy Note 5 packs 32GB of internal storage which cannot be expanded.

Furthermore, the C5 sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera as compared to a 5-megapixel front shooter found in Galaxy Note 5. Samsung is expected to roll out the next iteration of its Galaxy Note series handset sometime later this year. It is not yet clear if the Galaxy Note handset will be named the Galaxy Note 6 or Galaxy Note 7.

The smartphone maker is yet to announce a U.S. release date for its Galaxy C5. The C5 is currently available in four color options including black, gray, pink and gold in China only. The 32 GB version has been priced at 2,199 yuan, i.e. roughly $335, while the higher-capacity 64 GB model costs 2,399 yuan, which amounts to around $365.
