Taiwanese giant Asus has reportedly launched its latest notebook iteration, dubbed the ZenBook 3, which the maker claims is "the world's most prestigious laptop." The laptop was unveiled at Computex 2016 in Taipei on Monday.

Weighing in at two pounds and measuring 11.9mm thick, the new Asus ZenBook 3 is both thinner and lighter than Apple's MacBook and MacBook Air ranges, according to Silicon Angle.

As far as the specification is concerned, the Asus ZenBook 3 is made from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, which is 50 percent stronger than the standard alloy used in laptops. A slim bezel design provides an 82 percent screen-to-body ratio, according to BGR.

The Windows 10 laptop has a 12.5-inch display packing 1920 x 1080 pixels and covered with Gorilla Glass 4, a glass touchpad, a full-size keyboard, and a fingerprint reader that supports Windows Hello to make logging in possible without needing to type in the password. The laptop also features the world's thinnest fan that measures just 3mm, according to BGR.

Other specs include 16GB of RAM, up to Intel Core i7 processor, USB Type-C connectivity, and up to 9 hours of battery life. Apple's Macbook, on the other hand, features a 1.3 GHz m7 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, reported The Verge.

The ZenBook 3 offers fast-charge technology allowing the battery to be charged up to 60 percent capacity in just 49 minutes. The USB-C port also doubles as the display connector, USB port, and charge port.

Talking about the pricing details, the Asus ZenBook 3 featuring Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and 256GB SSD will cost $999 while a 512GB SSD will cost a whopping $1,499. The top of the range ZenBook 3 with Core i7 processor, 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM has been priced at $1,999. The laptop will be available in three color options including Royal Blue, Quartz Grey and Rose Gold. There's no word on the laptop's release date yet.
