HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition Release Date, Specs & Price
HTC has added another variant of its HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition with the plus version over in India. Despite the fact that the attention right now is on the HTC 10, the HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition could be a potential consideration.
It should be worth noting that the HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition is not that different from the HTC One M9 PCE version which debuted earlier this month. The device is likely trying to follow the strategy of phones adding the ‘plus’ version but for the mid-range market.
A recap on the actual specs the HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition carries include a a 5-inch 1080p Super LCD display, an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a 13 MP main camera, a 4 MP front-facing UltraPixel camera, the iconic BoomSound speakers and a 2,840 mAh battery.
For the plus version, the only difference is that it comes with a slightly larger 5.2-inch display and that it comes armed with a fingerprint scanner. Aside from that, the HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition is technically the same as its predecessor and will be equipped with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box alongside Sense UI.
As far as pricing is concerned, the HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition runs for about $355, a whole lot cheaper than the flagship HTC 10 which runs for about $789. In short, the HTC One M9+ PCE is half the price of the latest flagship which makes it an ideal piece for the mid-range phone market.
The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition has yet to go officially on sale and right now it will be interesting how it will fare in the market. Folks who want a phone but are cash-strapped may consider getting one though its performance is not expected to be off the charts.
The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition measures 15.09cm x 7.19cm x 0.96cm and weighs about 168 grams. It may not be a top of the line device to consider but for the ones who are looking to own a new phone on a budget, the HTC One M9+ PCE is something that can be seriously considered.
