'Mr. Robot' Season 3: Decoding the 'Red Wheelbarrow'

Fans will have to wait for Mr. Robot season 3 because it's not expected to be released until mid-2017. However, there's definitely something to look forward to much sooner than that. The Red Wheelbarrow will be released on Nov. 1. This is the title of the new Mr. Robot book that will leave you scratching your head whether or not you followed the first two seasons of the series. This is an important title because this theme will be explored in the upcoming season, this according to iDigitalTimes.

Red Wheelbarrow (The Poem)

There are a few references to the Red Wheelbarrow in the series and one of them is a poem that bonded Tyrell and Elliot in season 2. Later on, the phrase is etched in Elliot's mind and becomes a code that will be explored in season 3 that becomes an inspiration for the book. This according to creator Sam Esmail in the New York Comic Con.

Red Wheelbarrow (Elliot's Journal)

Then there's the journal Elliot kept when he was in jail. There was Red Wheelbarrow etched onto the front. Based on The Hollywood reporter, Elliot asked pyro Hot Carla to burn his journal.

Red Wheelbarrow (For Tyrell Wellick)

This phrase also has a different meaning to Tyrell Wellick. These were the only two English words his father had ever known. He uses it as a reminder of him. A reminder of something he never wants to become. This is no coincidence for Elliot, because like Tyrell is also afraid to become his father. He wrote the journal to maintain his sanity and block out Mr. Robot. He had it burned in the end. This is his way of separating himself from his father.

The Red Wheelbarrow (A Resto?)

In season 2 finale, when Tyler gets Tyler to his hideout, there's a worker carrying a bag of fast-food barbecue and with the name of the restaurant on it: Red Wheelbarrow. This same menu is also the one that Elliot used in order to decipher messages from the Dark Army during the first few series episodes.

Confused yet? For those whose planning to grab the book, don't waste time trying to interpret and understand every single detail. Esmail tells you why. "Obviously it's linked to the show, but not necessarily one requires the other. There will be stuff in there that will matter. Will you need to read it in order to understand everything? The simple answer would be yes, but understanding everything will never probably happen," he says. The NYCC crowd roars with laughter.

So you see, no point wrecking your brains out. Besides, understanding everything is just too boring. That's why the cryptic themes in the storyline make Mr. Robot such a big hit. Let's just hope season 3 would be worth the wait.
