Football Could Change Kids Brain, A Study Proves
Renowned football players feel that they are like a walking time bomb as their brain ends with a disease from all the hits they took on the field. These players opine that one season of playing football can bring changes in children brain.
A recently released study proves that the more a child sustains blow on his head, the more changes will appear in his brain tissues.
The initial study did not prove whether the brain changes shall be permanent or it will cause disease. Past footballers are questioning whether this sport is worth the risk. These footballers justify that football was very important in their lives but there are other things important as well.
American kids participate in tackle football programs and the focus of the research is based on the long-term effects of playing football on consciousness which is considered as the form of traumatic brain injury.
The effect of football blows on the field is important for children from age group 9 to 18 as their brains are undergoing rapid changes.
A study was conducted on 25 players between the age group 8 and 13 in North Carolinian. Each of these players was asked to wear helmets which were equipped with sensors measuring the severity and frequency of the impact. Sixty percent of these players were observed during the practice match. Information was transmitted to a laptop.
The players were hitting at an extremely high level. After analyzing the data through MRI's of the brains it was witnessed that there were tiny changes in the white matter which are a tissue which connects the neutron-rich gray matter.
It was concluded that the more the exposure to head impacts the more changes you will notice. For few of the players the passion for football is beyond words and the changes in their brains are witnessed only for a particular season.
It is sports that helps kids in keeping up their grades and also motivates them while chasing their dreams. Football is a very aggressive game. The brain blows can't be stopped but this game can be made a bit safer.
